While Rilke was staying at Château de Muzot in Switzerland, Baladine Klossowska left a postcard tacked over his desk with a drawing of Orpheus. The artist of the postcard was Giovanni Battista Cima da Conegliano. It was during this time that Rilke composed The Sonnets to Orpheus and parts of the Duino Elegies.
